Technicolor to deliver HD set-top boxes to Tata Sky

Tata Sky has awarded Technicolor, the contract to deliver High Definition (HD) set-top boxes (STBs). This is in addition to the five million Standard Definition MPEG4 STBs that Tata Sky has already procured from Technicolor. The shipment of HD STBs will start later this year.

“We are satisfied by Technicolor’s level of service and that is why we decided to further strengthen our collaboration in STBs. With their MediaPlay set-top boxes, we will extend our product portfolio and strengthen our position in the delivery of HD video,” said Harit Nagpal, Managing Director and CEO Tata Sky.

Technicolor’s range of MediaPlay set-top boxes provide a wide array of services encompassing advanced functions such as multi-room and multi-screen, on demand, wireless streaming or Over-The-Top services. Technicolor promotes ecodesign through the complete product lifecycle.
