NEC India, today launched a new solution – NeoFace Reveal, for forensic investigation that can capture facial images of suspects from photographs and crime scenes, which are enhanced and encoded for matching against a mugshot repository.
NEC’s facial recognition technology relies on a modified Generalised Learning Vector Quantization (GLVQ) algorithm which enables high speed and high accuracy facial detection and facial features extraction. The technology has been deployed worldwide for security purposes, such as for CCTV surveillance, border control, law enforcement, immigration as well as others.
“We at NEC India are excited to introduce our innovative facial recognition technologies in India that can help strengthen homeland security measures in the country. NEC’s NeoFace Reveal solution has a strong global track record in successfully assisting security and government agencies in their law enforcement efforts against crime. Through our sophisticated technologies that can provide the needed intelligence to counter security threats, we look forward to partnering with agencies to ensure the safety of the public in India,” said Andrew Chi, Head, Public Safety, NEC India.
