More than 1000 calls are made every second on WhatsApp

WhatsApp, one of the most popular messaging services, recently announced that WhatsApp calling has reached new levels. WhatsApp announced on its blog that more than 100 million voice calls were made every day on WhatsApp. This translates to over 1,100 calls a second.

A month back, WhatsApp introduced a desktop app that users could use, just like they did on their phones. Like WhatsApp Web, the desktop app is simply an extension of the phone: the app mirrors conversations and messages from the mobile device.
