Mobile app downloads may grow six-fold in India by 2015: Report

India’s mobile app downloads are expected to grow six fold by 2015, according to a KPMG report on media and entertainment industry.

India has been the fastest growing mobile app market in 2014, a trend that continues from the previous year. “It is foretasted that mobile app downloads will globally triple and grow six folds in India by 2015,” said the report.

It also pointed out that among the entire app usage, shopping was the topper. Mobile commerce is likely to overtake e-commerce in the coming years, noted the report.
