Evernote has introduced a Google Drive icon, alongside its editing tools, which can be used to insert a file from same, without leaving the app
Evernote users can now access their files on Google Drive, without leaving the app. Evernote rolled out the feature, keeping in mind the fact that more than half of all its users have a Google Account. Evernote has introduced a Google Drive icon, alongside its editing tools, which can be used to insert a file from same, without leaving the app. “All the files you keep in Drive are now easier to access in Evernote. Now, instead of seeing only URL links, anyone can browse anything created or stored in Google Drive right in Evernote notebooks,” says Evernote in a blogpost.
Changes made by users in their Drive files will be automatically updated to Evernote as well. However, for automatic integration to happen, users will have to work online. “It does require being online to work for both Evernote Web and Evernote Android. Content from Google Drive is not stored locally in your Evernote account, and does not count towards monthly upload,” said Geoff Barry, community manager at Evernote. The beta integration of Google Drive and Evernote is only available for the web on Chrome, and for Android. Evernote, however says that other platforms will follow soon. The company also hinted at working to bring new and improved features for its app.
