Indian Railways travellers can now make payments for their tickets using MobiKwik as it is now the first payment option on IRCTC Connect Android App. IRCTC is India’s largest e-commerce platform in the country that caters to the Indian Railways.
With approximately 25,000 to 30,000 tickets booked daily via IRCTC Android app, the e-commerce firm MobiKwik expects the per day online ticket sales to spike.
MobiKwik CEO Bipin Preet Singh said, “Partnering with IRCTC, which drives the largest number of digital transactions in the country, we give best online casino a thrust to the government’s mandate of boosting wider adoption of digital money in India.”
As of now MobiKwik is powering more than 500 daily railway bookings on the IRCTC app with the average ticket value being Rs 700.
MobiKwik is currently powering payments for Uber, Meru Cabs, Big Bazaar, OYO Rooms, Zomato, Café Coffee Day and others.
The company has raised close to $30 million in funding till now from Sequoia Capital, American Express, Tree Line Asia, and Cisco Investments.
