The pilot phase of the Digital Literacy programme aimed at making Kerala a ‘total digital literacy state’ has been inaugurated by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy in Thiruvananthapuram.
In the first phase, the project will be implemented in Thiruvananthapuram district, according to an official release. A total of 10 student police cadets selected from 10 schools will be given tablets with internet facility and expert training. They will in turn train persons in their locality on e-governance and internet security.
Minister for Industries and Information Technology P K Kunhalikutty presided over the function. The pilot project is expected to be completed by December. Those who successfully complete the training would be given certificates, it said.
