eGovWatch: About 6 lakh PF claims cleared or transferred using Online Transfer Claim Portal

As part of Digital India Week celebrations, Employees’ Provident Fund Organizatin cleared or transferred about six lakh PF claims nationwide, using its Online Transfer Claim Portal.

The OTCP made transfer of PF accounts, accumulations and claims paperless, quick and online, a release said.

Since June 2014, more than 50,000 establishments have been registered with EPFO through the Online Registration of Establishments facility. It was particularly useful for establishments that the PF code allotment letter is also being made available online.

It said EPFO was being transformed into a centre of excellence in governance and more citizen friendly initiatives are being made available.

Efforts are on to simplify labour laws and to condense the existing 44 labour laws into four codes, it said.
