Deb Deep Sengupta replaces Ravi Chauhan at SAP India

SAP, the $20-billion German enterprise software maker has appointed Deb Deep Sengupta as the new managing director for  SAP India, who will be responsible for driving the SAP’s growth strategy and operations in India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

Based out of Delhi, Deb Deep Sengupta will report to  Adaire Fox-Martin, president of SAP Asia Pacific Japan.

Deb Deep replaces Ravi Chauhan, who has been heading SAP India since April 2014. A source close to the development confirmed that Chauhan has “moved” out of SAP.

Before this elevation, Deb Deep was the chief operating officer for SAP India. He provided leadership and direction to SAP’s multi-functional sales and operations organisations in India, driving  productivity improvements, and significantly contributing to the achievement of revenue and profitability.

He has been credited for more than doubling the size of SAP’s enterprise business to 75% of India’s total business across products & services portfolio as the VP for Integrated Large Enterprise Business.

Prior to this, he built the SME & Channels team in SAP India and catapulted its ecosystem business into the Top 3 SME business within SAP.

Before joining SAP, Deb Deep held various Sales Management and leadership roles at IBM and Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC), which merged with HP.
