“…subject to the requisite regulatory approvals (including approvals of the relevant High Courts) if any, the board of directors of the company has approved the scheme of amalgamation of Augere Wireless Broadband India Private Limited with the company,” Airtel said in a filing to the BSE.

Augere Wireless holds 20 MHz of spectrum in 2300 MHz band used for 4G services in the telecom circle of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh (MPCG).

As per the website of Augere Wireless, it has not launched services in India although it has tested a pilot wireless network based on LTE technology in Madhya Pradesh.

Airtel has already launched commercial 4G services in 334 towns across India. The telecom company had launched the first 4G network in Kolkata in April 2012.
