The mammoth task of data entry work to kickstart the ambitious e-mutation programme is over in 10 talukas of Pune district. The district administration is now ready to put the seven by twelve extracts pertaining to ownership of land online. The work is set to start on April 1.

“No more paper work. We completed online entries for over 15 lakh documents and of 10 talukas in the district and will complete the remaining in the next fortnight. We already have Bhor going online from January 1 followed by Mulshi from February,’’ said deputy collector Ramdas Jagtap.

Jagtap said once the entries are made there will be a trial run for all talukas in Pune district before the project takes off on April 1.

The citizens can now expect quicker delivery of 7/12 extracts under e-mutation programme.

The e-mutation programme was rolled out in Bhor taluka last month in presence of Revenue Minister Eknath Khadse. The remaining 12 tehsils will adopt the programme in the next two months.

E-mutation is an online programme to help revenue officials generate 7/12 extracts online and make latest data available. It will also help in maintaining updated land records. People would no longer have to wait for long to complete land-related transactions at the talathi office as the new system automatically generate notices to be sent to the previous land owners seeking replies.
