Express Technology Senate brings top Indian CIOs together

The 11th edition of Express Technology Senate kick started in Abu Dhabi with Subramanian N, Technical Director – Management Consulting, KPMG India, delivering the keynote address.
In his keynote, Subramanian highlighted how SMAC trends (Social media, Mobility, Analytics and Cloud) are impacting businesses around the world. He said that globally, the enterprise mobility market is expected to grow to $107 billion by 2015.

Talking about IT strategy and business, Subramanian asserted that companies are increasingly using IT as a means to cement their business.

 “In today’s post-digital era, it is important to use innovation from the bottom up,” he explained further. He also said that social media was no walk in the park and requires serious thinking.

Representatives from various companies spoke about the myriad issues faced by technology decision makers across industries. A.S. Rajgopal, Managing Director, NxtGen Data Center and Cloud Technologies, said, “Though there has been an infrastructure change in the last decade, but the key issue is that the base line has remained the same. It is time we addressed the problems faced by IT heads differently.”

He emphasized the need for building agile infrastructure to run the applications that can support new age businesses.

Sunil Sharma, VP – Sales, India and SAARC, explained the phenomenon of companies trying to fit everything in the little IT budget that they have, often compromising on the latest technologies.

There was a panel discussion on the theme for the event: Continuous Innovation – Bridging Technology and Business Strategy for Agility and Growth.

The day ended with Canon Express Intelligent Enterprise Awards that were given away to enterprises in different sectors who had deployed IT in an exemplary and innovative manner.
Express Technology Senate, which is held annually, brings together India’s topmost CIOs and senior technology decision makers to discuss upcoming technology trends and share best practices in IT deployment. The primary sponsors for this year’s event are Canon and NxtGen, among others.
