Online marketplace Snapdeal has unveiled Teewe, a media streaming dongle. Available for pre-order at Rs 1,999, it will enable customers to play YouTube videos, files residing on their phones or laptop and cast them all on the biggest screen at home with ease.
Teewe is created by Mango Man Consumer Electronics Pvt. Ltd. It is an HDMI Dongle, which will allow the customer to stream media wirelessly via a smartphone application to their televisions. The product is launched under the Snapdeal’s ‘Launchpad Program’, which was introduced in April this year and aims to encourage inventors and innovators across the country by providing a platform, which will help them market and reach out to nearly 25 million Snapdeal users in over 5000 cities and towns.
Teewe comes with a Companion Smartphone App (available on Google Play and Apple App Store) which doubles up as a remote control and the User Interface for content discovery. The service in its current format comes preloaded with content from YouTube, Local Content and other curated content from sources across the Web. More sources are being added regularly and users will be able to enjoy the benefits of any future updates with no additional cost.
“The main motive behind the Launchpad program was to support creativity and innovation amongst new age entrepreneurs and innovators,” said Tony Navin, Sr. Vice President – Electronics & Home at Snapdeal.com said.
Talking about the partnership, Sai Srinivas, Co-Founder and CEO at Mango Man Consumer Electronics said, “The Team has been hard at work the past one year building a Solid World-class Born in India entertainment experience. Teewe is a solid value proposition for anyone interested in home entertainment.”
Under the first edition of Launchpad a platform for innovators and inventors across the country, Snapdeal introduced two unique products. Alpha Feather, a smartphone billed as the ‘lightest’ device of its type, and Click Pro, a camera that is designed to capture action photographs.
