Log 9 Materials, a Bengaluru-headquartered nanotechnology start-up and manufacturer of India’s leading UV disinfection product ‘CoronaOven’, has partnered with the Rotary Club of Bangalore Orchards, to donate its latest product CoronaOven’s 33-litre-volume variants for use at various government hospitals/Covid Care Centres located in some of the worst Covid-hit districts of Karnataka. The initiative is a part of Log 9’s continued social responsibility efforts to contribute towards India’s collective fight against Covid-19 virus. Among the hospitals that have so far benefitted through this joint initiative of Log 9 and Rotary Bangalore Orchards Trust are — District Hospital Bagalkot, District Hospital Yadgiri, and District Hospital Vijaypura. Rotary Orchards Bangalore also donated by itself some of Log 9’s products to hospitals like Victoria Hospital, KC General Hospital etc in Bangalore.
CoronaOven is a first-of-its-kind sanitization chamber designed and launched-to-market by Log 9 Materials; the product uses UV-C light to kill Coronaviruses and other pathogens from object surfaces in as less as 4 to 8 minutes. In healthcare settings such as hospitals, clinics and nursing homes, the product can be used to safely flash sterilize objects of daily use such as masks, gloves, eye goggles, PPE suits and face shields, medical equipments, etc., and thus it not only reduces chances of surface-to-human transmission of the virus to health workers who are working in close contact with infected patients, but also plays a pivotal role in sterilizing PPEs for re-use by healthcare teams (particularly useful if there is a shortage or limited availability of masks, PPEs, etc.).
Speaking about their charitable initiative, Mr. Akshay Singhal, Founder & CEO, Log 9 Materials says, “We at Log 9 are committed to serve the healthcare personnel of our country and society at large in combating the ongoing Coronavirus health emergency; hence, it gives us immense pride to deploy our cutting-edge product CoronaOven, which has been scientifically designed to prevent surface-to-human transmission of the virus, entirely free of cost in government hospitals in some of the worst Covid-affected areas of Karnataka. This initiative was achieved with the support of the members of Rotary Club of Bangalore Orchards, who helped us in identifying the hospitals that were in dire need of a disinfection product like ours. In the near future also, our collaboration with Rotary Bangalore Orchards will continue on a need basis, and it will be our constant endeavour to ensure that the maximum number of our front-line workers are benefitted from this product and remain infection-free while performing their duties.”
Notably, Log 9’s CoronaOven is the only UV sanitization product in the Indian market that has been certified in terms of appropriate UV intensity by ICMR-empanelled Council of Scientific & Industrial Research, Central Scientific Instruments Organisation (CSIR-CSIO) and The Indian Institute of Science – Bangalore. For the last two months or so, Log 9 has been offering CoronaOven at highly discounted rates (or even free of cost at times) to government hospitals, public institutions, CRPF, traffic police personnel and State Police Departments in Karnataka and other states. Till date, some of the reputed healthcare providers in the country that have installed CoronaOven inside their hospital premises are AIIMS-Delhi, Fortis, Medanta Medicity, Narayana Health, and Max Healthcare, etc.
