eGovWatch: Chhattisgarh launches ‘e-Jandarshan’ for grievance redressal

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh has launched an online platform ‘e-Jandarshan’which will empower people in the state to seek speedy

redressal of their grievances by reaching out to him directly via Google Hangouts.

“Singh has become the first chief minister in the country to have established online communication with the citizens through this information technology-based application,” an official release said today.

The online public interaction programme saw applicants from various districts conveying their problems to Singh through the Google Hangouts application as he opened the platform at his official residence yesterday.

Once every month, Singh will hold a direct interaction with people on the ‘e-Jandarshan’ platform.

The online audience will be in addition to his weekly ‘Jandarshan’ programme, during which he meets the public at his official residence to hear their grievances.

That exercise will be conducted regularly on Thursday every week, the release added.

“Although the chief minister has been interacting with common people to address their problems in his weekly Jandarshan programme, the new initiative has given a platform to people to register their complaints with the CM directly from their native places without having to travel all the way to the capital,” it said.

After an examination of online complaints, the selected applicants will be given an opportunity to have an interaction with Singh, it added.
