eGovWatch: Govt asks departments to post working hours on websites
All central government ministries and departments have been asked to put up on their respective websites details of working hours and public dealing timings among others.
“All ministries or departments are advised to post or upload working hours, holidays list and public dealing hours, if any, on the home page of their websites,” the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) said in an order issued today.
Offices under the ministries or departments who are having their own website may also be advised accordingly, it said.
The decision to put up the details of office timings online has been taken to inform general public, and concerned stakeholders aware of the office timings, the DoPT said.
The matter regarding posting or uploading of working hours etc on the websites of Indian Government has been considered in order to provide information to the citizens staying or residing abroad, it said.
