The security technology has emerged immensely to vanquish escalating safety concerns. The new technologies and concepts bring novelty to the video surveillance industry. The video surveillance industry has grown from the primitive circuit video transmission (CCTV) to digital video recorder (DVR) to the centrally managed internet protocol IP cameras, which can share the video anywhere be it the mobile devices or phone tablets. The current security solutions need to be efficient, vigorous and accessible. The security requirement of an individual, specially women and children is of paramount importance. Current safety issues and events raise crucial questions such as do women feel safe in our country? , Do working women feel safe and watched while commuting? Do women have access to quick safety technology and tools in distressed situations? Are parents satisfied with the level of security provided by the schools? These queries have triggered the need of the next generation of security solutions.

Many women safety reports released reveal that commuting in the city is unsafe, desolate and uncomfortable for women. Women have this constant unceasing fear of reaching home safe and sound. A majority of women experience or are concerned about eve-teasing while they travel. Parking lots and poorly lighted streets are often mentioned by women being isolated and dangerous. Women are expressing their views regarding better surveillance and safety solutions to be established and maintained.

In a tense scenario like this each female should be given the power of a touch-of-a-button security technology. Alongside there should be given more innovative mobile applications which can set across an alarm in an unfortunate incident. These are the next generation of security solutions, which assure women that their safety needs are met instantly. Although there are a few apps for women safety still these apps build a sense of security among women. Across cities and towns which are in the constant limelight for being extremely unsafe for women and this needs to be changed. The app is not just being restricted to harassment and safety on the streets but also at workplace and other public places, essentially everywhere. The digital way of improving women security would be an excellent initiative, other being lighting improvement in the streets and installation of CCTV’s. This goes without saying that the authorities have to be equally responsive in combating harassment’s and assaults and counter them speedily.

Another security tool is the SOS button, which shares vital information like location, time of alert and maybe even voice clip. However, the victim may not be able to respond quickly or at all as in such distressed situations the attacker deprives the victim of any possibility to escape or reach anyone. The innovative app may however ensure video-surveillance system to track the exact location of the crime scene and send help in case of emergency. In today’s day and age, there is a crucial need to ensure adequate surveillance on the city roads and in city transport such as buses, shuttles and cabs. Alongside in additional cctv cameras should also be installed in residential neighborhoods .
Furtherance the increasing number of safety concerns arising in educational institutions such as molestation, rapes, kidnapping and ragging security are key challenges for them. There is a requirement to enhance the inefficient security measures by either upgrading their current security systems or installing high-end technologies to enhance situational awareness. Traditionally, security crew relies on video as the native method of monitoring. However, this strategy is now obsolete. A security team who solely uses video to evaluate a situation has limited information and many times irresolute. With the integration of audio with video into existing security systems the gravity of a situation, the time requirements to respond to the danger is better understood. Through this way security needs are met and additional evidence is gained. Moreover, integrating microphones with cameras provides access to more details about a suspect or scene. Voices, names, languages spoken and directives aid to assess the suspect’s intentions and threat level.

Video cameras are effective surveillance tools in educational institutions but often only a few cameras are installed throughout their premises, creating surveillance blind spots for select buildings or areas. Meanwhile, in big schools these cameras cannot be monitored at all times. In both cases, deploying video-audio solutions with alert central station will enable surveillance zones to be closely monitored. The camera systems must have digital and infrared technology for night vision and recording, and being web-based, they can be viewed remotely from smart phones, iPads, laptops, and desktop computers. Cameras must be strategically placed to have a wide coverage range.

Another next generation tool is audio analytics for aggression detection. In addition to video-audio monitoring equipment, school administrators and the security department of the state should also consider deploying video-audio analytics solutions. Specifically, behavior of aggression and gunshot detection. They are the next generation of monitoring; equipping security teams with critical information and enhancing perimeter security. The Aggression detectors warn staff by a visual alert or alarm trigger. As a result, high-risk situations are identified in real-time and prevent acts of physical aggression before they happen.
