Former Bharti Airtel executive Sachin Singhal to head consumer business at PayU India

Consumer payment processors solution company, PayU India, has appointed former Bharti Airtel’s executive, Sachin Singhal as head of its consumer business, said  a statement from the company.

Sachin, who led the channel marketing and mobile internet growth for Bharti Airtel, will now be responsible for designing effective business strategies for bringing growth in consumer business category at PayU.

Recently PayU has partnered with IndusInd bank for offering full suite of consumer banking products online. According to company officials, the consumer business category would aim at unifying banking services with latest Fin-tech solution from PayU.

“At this stage of our growth in our business, it was imperative to bring on board someone with a vision and entrepreneurial passion. Sachin brings valuable industry knowledge and experience to PayU India which will help us design effective business strategies and more innovative solutions for our consumers and help PayU grow its presence”, Nitin Gupta, CEO and Co- founder, PayU India said in a statement.

Sachin joins PayU India with over a decade long experience in business and technology. Other than his last stint with Bharti Airtel, where he led the channel marketing and mobile internet growth, he also led some of the major innovations in mobile Internet at Airtel, like One Touch Internet, Airtel Zero, Wynk movies.

An alumnus of IIT Delhi and IIM Ahmedabad, Sachin started his post MBA journey as a consultant at PWC India, worked at One97, led marketing for PayTM at its launch, worked at Tradus.com as head of products.
